ADA Compliant Websites for REALTORS®
You’ve probably received or seen a demand letter stating something like this:
“This letter along with relevant enclosures constitutes our formal demand for violation of the Federal Fair Housing Act of 1988, Title VIII, 42 U.S.C. § 3601 et seq. and the Florida Fair Housing Act, Fla. Stat. §§ 760.20-760.60, (hereinafter “FFHA” or “FHA”) to be rectified.”
Not to worry… REfindly has you covered!
As a REALTOR® one of your most useful marketing tools is your website. The internet is one of the first places people look to when searching for products or services, especially real estate. Having an ADA (American Disabilities Act) compliant website can help you avoid legal problems pertaining to you and your real estate website.
While non ADA compliant websites are not technically illegal, if someone with a disability comes to your website and it is not equipped with assistive technologies they might need (such as screen readers) they can sue you on the basis of ADA.
The National Association of Realtors (NAR) fully supports the push for REALTORS to make their websites ADA compliant in order to avoid litigation. We at REfindly understand that having an ADA compliant website not only protects you from litigation but, more importantly, makes your website accessible to a broader audience. So we’re proud to announce that all REfindly website designs are now fully ADA compliant!
